About Kendyl Pollack
Kendyl Pollack is Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation - Mohawk, Wolf Clan and Anishinaabe, Eagle Clan. She is 15 years old and going into grade 11. Kendyl is an accomplished lacrosse player and began playing at the age of five. The sport of lacrosse is not just a sport that she loves to play, but it holds significance to her because it is the game that was given to her people by Creator. She plays in honor of her grandmother and great-grandmother, a Residential School survivor. Her most recent accomplishment with lacrosse is making the Haudenosaunee Nationals Women’s U20 team and will be playing at the Women’s World Lacrosse Championship in Hong Kong, August 2024. Kendyl has also performed Fancy Shawl and Hoop Dance. In experiencing challenging times, Kendyl leans into her culture, knowing that her connection to her ancestors helps create and define the path for her future. In addition, Kendyl also served as a Council Member with the Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids Community Leadership Council, and also served on the Youth Mental Health Advisory Board with NYS Senator Samra Brouk.
